Unemployment is a key issue for the EU. The European Commission considers employment as the first target for the EU in 2020 (75% of the 20-64 year-olds to be employed). Young people in Europe are especially hit and concerned by unemployment. Therefore, it seem most timely and necessary for European schools to promote teaching activities and active debates on this topic in order to raise the students' awareness of the first EU target in the next five years.
