Engaging our Local and Global Communities - in sustained and positive change

  • Bee garden     Made by Micklas 6.a

The bee garden is the place where we have all our bees and we get our honey from. We have 2 families of bees and in each family we have about 50.000 bees. The bees get their pollen from the trees and flowers in the garden and a good amount of trees we have nearby the families.

Sometimes we go out to the bees and see if they are okay and if there are queen cells in the hive. Last year we took out all the honey and put it all in glasses. The bees made about 60 Kg of honey. We sell each glass of honey for 25 Danish Crowns. We had 200 glasses full of wonderful honey. We make our own labes.

    • We are now back in school every other week and we have different classes working in the garden.
We are two teachers who are taking a bee course, so we can take good care of the bees of our school.

Our student have been doing some reegrowing of vegestables, learning about scented flowers that are good for our bees, and herbs that we can use in our outdoor cooking.

Here you can see regrow of garlic, carrots and celery leaves.

The students have been watering our bees because it hasn`t rained for a long time
