Lafon Feline school and neighborhood history

Who was Mr Lafon Feline?... An owner!

Mr Lafon Feline owned a property planted with mulberry trees in the neighborhood.

He was raising silkworms and owned a silk warehouse situated at 12 Faussets Street.

In 1920, The Lafon Feline Castel became the property of the Mayor of Le Bouscat city. It was destroyed in 1928 to became an allotment and gave it's name to the neighborhood.

Projet de construction d'une école...

1923 : Projet de construction d'une école maternelle et d'une école primaire
1925 : Le conseil municipal en accord avec l'inspection académique décide d'ouvrir une école.
1926: L'école ouvre le 1er janvier avec 1 classe de garçons et une classe de filles.
1927 à 1930 : Agrandissement  de l'école.
1940 : Construction de 4 classes au groupe scolaire Lafon Féline
1950 : Construction d'une salle de gymnastique à l'école
1955 : Construction d'un préau
2007 : L'école élémentaire lafon Féline compte 243 enfants répartis en 10 classes (2Cp, 2 Ce1, 2 Ce2, 2 Cm1,
2 Cm2).
