1st Meeting in Stralsund-Germany

  • First project meeting  in November 2015

From Sunday, November 15th to Saturday, November 22nd 2015 we met for our first project meeting in Stralsund, Germany.

The German students (and teachers) were so excited to welcome their guests from Lebork in Poland, Braga in Portugal and Svalov in Sweden!

All the guests were warmly welcomed by their hosts. After their long journeys to the very north of Germany they were all quite exhausted and needed to rest.

During the week several activities took place. The students and teachers got to know

„Hansestadt Stralsund“ by making a town ralley and visiting the exhibition of world cultural heritage-useful information for the quiz at the end of the week... which our Polish guests won, by the way.

There were workshops about working with tablet PCs and about webtools.

Another highlight was a project with a local artist who taught the students how to work with wood. The students created little wooden doors which open the view to something typical from the different regions included into the project.

The guests got to know that November can be VERY stormy at the Baltic Sea when making a trip to the beach and to some places near Stralsund. To escape from the weather we all went to the Museum of Amber in Ribnitz-Damgarten. All students took a little amber stone back home.

In „Störtebeker Braumanufaktur“, a local enterprise producing drinks, we got to know about the production of several drinks.

The students of the different teams spent the evenings together in the host families, with activities like bowling or visiting the Sea Museum.

We had a great time together! There was one very sad thing about the  meeting: the French delegation was not allowed to take part because of the terrorist attacks in their home country.
