HERE IS HOW WE WORKED ON THE STORY
Class 1 and pre-school:
- reading the story with the use of soft toys and coloured boxes
- playing games : Who's in this box (with pictures of the story boxes) - Guess the animal (It's too big, What is it?) - The broken tape recorder (They sent me a giraffe, it was too.....?......)
- discussion in L1: which animal could be a good pet for you?
- draw your favourite pet in a letter to be sent to the zoo
- making a bar chart on the wall by using all the drawings and discover the class favourite pet
- transferring the data in a bar chart on the IWB
- watching and singing the song "Dear Zoo" in youtube

Class 2
- children took to school their animal soft toys and found criteria how to classify them: colour, size, habitat (click on the picture to see photopeach presentation)

- They drew their pet in the excercise book and practiced the chunk: I've got a....It is...." and they organized a small zoo in class
- Then children took to school a photo of their pets and we classified them according to color and size: I've got a pet...It's a...It's....
- Action story: children perform the story by pretending to be boxes and out come the pets (video to be uploaded)
- The performed the story in the form of TPR
