Final conclusions

  • As we can see in the responses to the questionnaire and the final impressions of students, the project was interesting, innovative and creative fo most of our students. Therefore, all teachers feel satisfied with the results of the project.  We have helped them to improve their communicative skills in English, have used many ICT tools, have fostered their curiosity and knowledge of the world around them and have made them become more aware of the importance of taking action and be wise with the decisions we make as local and global citizens. So, yes, we are happy. We made it!!

What students liked the most was to interact with each other although we know we have to encourage them even more to do so. One of the drawbacks in relation to this interaction was the number of Spanish students, so, in the future, we'll try to have our students in the same level working in different projects so that each class can work better with another class in another country. If that is the case we will even match them in pairs to collaborate together. Another way to improve communication between the students can be video conferences with breakout sessions, so the students get to know each other better. As we hopefully are back in a live schooling situation in the future video conferences and shared digital work will be considered "special" by teachers as well as students. During the pandemic it - of course - seemed like a daily routine sometimes.

Another thing they really enjoyed was the design of the logo and the school videos because it was a way to show and get to know what schools in Europe look like. Thus in next projects, we should include more of this type of activities in which they share their closest reality.

There are other things to improve like respecting the deadlines. This year we had to extend them quite a lot but mainly due to the pandemic that forced the closure of some schools in the project. Moreover, we think we should also make better use of the diary and have online meetings using the twinspace. We didn't do so because it seemed easier to use meet or zoom, since we all were more used to it.

To finish with, I would say that we were a great team and did a great job. Thank you to all my colleagues for their enthusiasm and commitment!
