A few schools around Europe interested in the use of robots and coding as an educational tool decided to work together in the eTwinning project Rob & Me. We believe anybody ́s basic literacy in the digital age must include a basic understanding of coding and computational thinking such as problem-solving, collaboration and analytical skills. What's more, learning coding at a young age helps children to develop communication skills, creativity, math, and writing skills, as well as self-confidence and perseverance, and offers new possibilities for challenging experiences for gifted children that will help them maximize their talent. We are also convinced that robotics give children with learning difficulties to prove their manual skills and thus help them experience success. On the other hand, the lack of women and girls in technology and STEM careers is a well-documented fact, and the time has come for schools to finally do something about it.
