Projekt 4 - Ponorka a kartéziánsky potápač

  • How can scuba divers and submersibles dive down into the water and then come back up? Find out with this easy project.

    What You Need:

    What You Do:

    1. Fill a glass with water and put the medicine dropper in it. Suck enough water into the dropper so that it just barely floats - only a small part of the rubber bulb should be out of the water. This is your diver, and it has neutral buoyancy. That means the water it displaces (pushes aside) equals the weight of the diver. The displaced water pushes up on the diver with the same amount of force that the diver exerts down on the water. This allows the diver to stay in one spot, without floating up or sinking down.

    2. Now that your diver is ready with enough water inside to give it neutral buoyancy, fill the soda bottle all the way to the top with water. (You don't want any air between the water and the cap.) Lower the medicine dropper into it and screw the cap on tightly.

    3. Squeeze the sides of the bottle. What happens? The diver sinks. Let go of the bottle and it will float back up. Why does it do this? Watch carefully as you make it sink again - what happens to the air inside the dropper?

As you squeeze the bottle (increasing pressure) the air inside the dropper is compressed, allowing room for more water to enter the dropper. (You'll see the water level in the dropper rise as you squeeze the bottle.) As more water enters, the dropper becomes heavier and sinks. Practice getting just the right amount of pressure so your diver hovers in the middle of the bottle.

Submarines and submersibles have ballast tanks that fill up with water to make them dive. When it's time to surface, air is pumped into the tanks, forcing the water out and making the sub float to the top. Read more about submarines here. Scuba divers wear heavy belts of lead to make them sink in the water, but they also have a buoyancy compensator. This is a bag that they inflate with air from their oxygen tank. When it is inflated, it causes them to float up to the surface. While underwater they'll put just enough air in the bag to keep them from floating or sinking.

Of course, most subs and scuba divers are diving in salt water. Try your diver again in a bottle of salt water. Is there any difference in the way it works? Do you need to start out with more water in the dropper than you did before? Remember salt water is denser than fresh water!

    Ponorka 1  - Šmálikovci

Pomôcky: 500 ml pet fľaša, 4 matice, keramzit, slamka, plastelína, zapaľovač, klinec, akvárium, voda.
    Postup:
    1. zapaľovačom sme si nahriali klinec a spravili sme do fľaše 4 diery a z druhej  strany jednu väčšiu dieru na slamku.
    2. do väčšej diery sme vopchali slamku a utesnili ju plastelínou,
    3. do fľaše sme  si nasypali keramzit a pridali 4 matice,
    4. napustili sme akvárium vodou a išli sme testovať.

    Postup:
    1. Ponor vrchnák z pera do kadičky s vodou.
    3. Stláčaj boky fľaše a pozoruj správanie potápača.
    4. Nakresli si schému fľaše s potápačom do zošita.
    5. Zaznamenaj si to čo pozoruješ.

Záver: Keď stlačíme boky fľaše, potápač sa ponorí. Vtedy vo fľaši vzniká tlak a vzduchová bublina v pere sa zmenši. Vrchnák z pera zväčší svoju hmotnosť a bude klesať ku dnu.

    Postup:
    1. Rozrežeme fľašu,vložíme do nej motor,čerpadlo a kelímok.
    2. Pripájkujeme káble k motorom a urobíme dieru do fľaše na káble.
    3. Cez dierku prepcháme káble a utesníme pomocou tavnej pištole.
    4. Potom rozrezané časti fľaše zalepíme lepiacou páskov a nasadíme vrtuľu na motor.

Záver: Položíme ponorku na hladinu vody a zapneme čerpadlo. Čerpadlo načerpá vodu do ponorky a tá sa ponorí, lebo zväčší svoju hmotnosť. Keď chceme, aby sa ponorka vynorila, musí zmenšiť svoju hmotnosť a to dosiahneme tým, že  čerpadlo vodu z ponorky vytláča vonku.

    Kartézsky potápač 2 - Šmálikovci

Pomôcky: vrchnáčik z pera, pet fľaša, skalky, kúsky látky, plastelína
Postup: vrchnáčiku oblepíme  plastelínou a vyskúšame ho v kadičke a do fľaše nasypeme kamienky  a vhodíme kúsky látok a vhodíme tam karteziána a zaštopľujeme fľašu .

    Postup:
    • Oblepíme vrchnák plastelínou pri čom otvor musí byť otvorený.
    • Potom ponoríme vrchnák z pera do kadičky s vodou.
    • Ak bude vrchnák plávať, tak do fľaše nalejeme vodu a vrchnák vložíme do fľaše a uzavrieme.
    • A pozorujeme

KONSTRUKCJA I ZASADY DZIAŁANIA ŁODZI PODWODNEJ:

    1.Silnik
    2.Akumulator

    (Submarine Principles and Design
A submarine is a watercraft capable of independent operation below the surface of the water. It differs from a submersible, which has only limited underwater capability.
The term submarine most commonly refers to large crewed autonomous vessels; however, historically or more casually, submarine can also refer to medium sized or smaller vessels (midget submarines, wet subs), Remotely Operated Vehicles or robots.

The word submarine was originally an adjective meaning "under the sea” and so consequently other uses such as "submarine engineering" or "submarine cable" may not actually refer to submarines at all. Submarine was shortened from the term "submarine boat", and is often further shortened to "sub".

Submarines are referred to as "boats" for historical reasons because vessels deployed from a ship are referred to as boats. The first submarines were launched in such a manner. The English term U-boat for a German submarine comes from the German word for submarine, U-Boot, itself an abbreviation for Unterseeboot ("undersea boat"). [wikipedia].

The submarine operates using the Archimedes' principle by manipulating the buoyancy.

The buoyancy is controlled by the ballast tank system. A submarine resting on the surface has positive buoyancy, which means it is less dense than the water around it and will float. At this time, the ballast tanks are mainly full of air. To submerge, the submarine must have negative buoyancy. Vents of the ballast tanks are opened.
Seawater coming in through the flood ports forces air out the vents, and the submarine begins to sink. The submarine ballast tanks now filled with seawater is denser than the surrounding water. The exact depth can be controlled by adjusting the water to air ratio in the ballast tanks. Submerged,

the submarine can obtain neutral buoyancy. That means the weight of the submarine equals the amount of water it displaces. The submarine will neither rise nor sink in this state. To make the submarine rise again, compressed air is simply blown into the tanks forcing the seawater out. The submarine gains positive buoyancy becomes less dense than the water and rises

In current design concept of the submarines modularity at design level, construction and manufacturing contributes the main factor for efficiency in building a submarine.

For example Malaysian Scorpene Submarines constructions are being held at France and Spain shipyards. Beside the modularity the main factor for safety design is to improve acoustic detection by improving the sonar performances, data computations performances, reduce the hydrodynamics and self noise.

In most submarines design all the equipments shall not linked directly to the pressure hull and elastic mounting system to reduce the vibration level on ship. Some design used the suspended platforms and cradles to fit these requirements.

Sonar stands for (Sound Navigation & Ranging) are the main navigation subsystem for submarine. It becomes an eye for the submarine during underwater operation since there is no direct manual visibility.

For underwater applications the acoustic signals are being manipulated for ensuring safety for the submarine to avoid any obstacles and threats.

The main functions for sonar subsystem are for detection in active or passive mode, tracking, localization, acoustic classification and obstacle avoidance.

    • Cylindrical Array: Main sonar for medium range detection.
    • Frank Array: Second main sonar for long range detection.
    • Distributed Array: Sonar for short and medium range detection.
    • Intercept Array: Sensor for pulse detection.
    • Active Array: Sonar for active ranging.
    • Mine Avoidance Array: Sonar for short range and objects detection.)
