Schoolproject against gender inequality

Gender inequality acknowledges that men and women are not equal and that gender affects an individual's living experience. These differences arise from distinctions in biology, psychology, and cultural norms. The principle that men and women should receive equal pay for equal work has been enshrined in the EU Treaties since 1957. Today the figures show that the stereotypes are still there and the values related to equality still need promotion. Gender stereotypes are still present in the education system. Teaching materials and textbooks still contain stereotypes like gender images diminishing the role of women. The best way of integrating or mainstreaming gender issues into the curriculum should be directly through teachers and students.
